Baby boy Hawks finally came!!!
April 2nd 7lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long
Headed to UT only 1 week after we got back
We stopped in Centerville for a night before heading to Richfield for my grandpa's funeral services.
Jayson tried to teach Savannah how to roller skate.
Pretty cute watching these two laugh and play together.
Grandma Hawks' house was pretty full so we decided to stay at a hotel- which the girls thought was pretty awesome.
Sweet Sophie fell asleep during the viewing and Jayson got to enjoy lots of cuddle time with our little big girl.
Eating breakfast at a hotel was also pretty exciting.
The funeral services for my grandpa were beautiful. All the grand and great grand kids sang "A Child's Prayer" and my dad and his brother and sisters all spoke. My dad did a really great job and I loved how he said in order to be eternal families, we need to establish those relationships on earth so we want to be together forever. Grandpa Hawks was the first person to pass on that I had a close relationship with. It made me a little less afraid of dying knowing that I had such a wonderful man waiting for me on the other side. I also loved knowing that he was getting to meet our new little baby girl even before we get to.
I loved these pictures of my grandpa on the funeral program.
Of course we ate at Taco Time before we left town. The girls had fun ordering things for themselves.
Stunning view on the drive home from the funeral.
The Sunday after my grandpa's funeral was General Conference. We stayed in Alpine with my parents so we could drive to Eastern ID on Monday for the burial. It was a little tricky for us all to pay attention to the speakers and so when my mom asked who was listening this is what Savannah did…
We also finally got to meet our sweet new cousin baby Hawks. The girls loved holding him!
It was well worth the drive to Grace, ID to see the final resting place for my grandpa. The cemetery was a little piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere. It was surrounded by big beautiful trees that my great grandma had planted there years ago. I liked seeing that my grandpa was surrounded by so many other family members.
My dad and uncle Dal sang Abide with Me Tis Eventide and Amazing Grace.
The songs were so beautiful!
I'm very grateful that we were able to be there for my grandma and dad.
Once we were back in Boise, Savannah's pre school headed to the aquarium for a field trip
and Sophie and I decided to join them.
The highlight was being able to feed the baby sharks and sting rays.
Sunday after church nap
One spontaneous Monday night we were running errands for FHE and asked the girls if they wanted to get their ears pierced. I was surprised when they said yes. Savannah was so brave and held so still for both ears to be pierced. The lady said she was braver than most of the 12 year olds that come in. Sophie did great for the first ear and then when the lady went to do the other ear she started to whimper. Luckily she was quick and able to pierce the other ear, so we didn't have to leave with only one ear pierced. Sophie stopped crying as soon as she was handed a mirror to look at her new earrings.
Both girls were so proud of their new earrings and loved showing everyone!
We decided we needed ice cream to celebrate!
The girls made their first visit to the pediatric dentist (which their father so lovingly referred them to).
It was a huge success! I loved seeing how relaxed and at ease they were there.
Sophie was a little nervous about the X-rays, so we'll try it again next time.
Easter Time!!!
So fun to have the Dille's join us at our annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt.
Easter morning brought new swim suits and towels from the Easter Bunny.
Sunday best
We spent Easter evening with friends and celebrating Miss Sophie's 3rd birthday!
Sophie was very pleased with her gifts from her friends Piper and Elle.
It was the day before I left for UT(again) for Andrew's wedding and I really wanted a pedicure- Jayson suggested we all go together as a family. It was the first pedicure for Savannah and Sophie and I couldn't believe how still they held and how much they loved it. Jayson was loving the massage chair!
(As you can tell by Sophie's pi's and cape it was a tired kind of day for mom) :)
Once in UT we celebrated Sophie's birthday again with cousins at The Sweet Tooth Fairy.
Andrew and Kenzie gave Sophie this stuffed Pony, which she absolutely loves!
Loved spending time with this little man again
The wedding preparations sure wore out Mimi and Sophie
April 25th!
Outside the temple waiting for Andrew and Kenzi

She stood like this for several minutes- it was pretty funny!
