 We went to McCall for the weekend and took the girls skiing at Tamarack.

It was the perfect "first time" for both of them since it was so warm, no crowds and a ski instructor who offered his services at no charge!

 Both girls laughed and smiled almost the whole time! So happy it was a good first experience. Savannah had strong enough legs that she got the hang of it pretty quick. Sophie liked to have noodle legs and have dad hold her up while going down the mountain.  Savannah was so brave that she wanted to try the "real" ski lift.  Jayson and our new instructor friend took the girls up the lift and then both girls decided to be noodle legs on the way down.  It was pretty funny watching the men have to hold the girls up the whole way down the mountain.  

 The last week in March the girls and I headed to UT for Spring Break and to hopefully see Jen's new baby.  We headed to the zoo with some friends to try and put Jen into labor. No such luck, but we did have an unusually warm day and it was so nice to spend time with cousins and be outside.

 My dear friend from high school, Marcie, and her sweet little girl, Adrie met up with us.  Adrie and Sophie were quick to be good friends- just like their mamas. 

 We figured the girls were too big for strollers, but it seemed everyone wanted a ride.

 All the kids loved to rub Jen's big belly.

 Savannah was not so fond of the stinky indoor gorilla exhibit.

We were quite the crew! Such a fun way to spend our first day of Spring Break in UT

It seems every time we travel one of the girls gets sick. This time it was Sophie and an ear infection..

 As I drove to UT my mom let me know that my dear Grandpa Hawks was having shortness of breath and was admitted to Utah Valley hospital.  The doctors discovered he had a weak valve in his heart that needed to be repaired or replaced. We went to visit him before his surgery and true to who he is, he was quiet but so sweet, holding my hand, kissing our cheeks and making sure to say hi to all the grand girls.  I am so grateful for this picture as it is the last we have of him.  He came through the surgery fine, but had lots of complications following and passed away 4 days later (the day after we arrived back in Boise).  I don't think it was coincidence that Jen's baby boy was overdue. I think he wanted to meet his Great Grandpa Hawks and namesake in heaven before he came to earth.

 Since Andrew was getting married a month later, Jen and I went shopping to try and find outfits for the girls and for Jen.  We spent all day running from store to store and eventually found something for Jen, but nothing for the girls.

 The girls and I slept in Alpine but spent lots of time in Provo with Jen. We did sooo much driving on this trip!! I pulled into Alpine late one night to see these sweet girls in the back.  Poor Soph doesn't look too comfy.

Mimi, and the girls and I were able to go to one of Kenzi's dress fittings before we headed back to Boise.  It was so fun! Her dress is beautiful and the girls were loving all the beautiful princess dresses.
