Saturday Night Craft

While our husbands were busy watching the Jazz game Saturday night, Liz and I decided to get crafty. We went to a baby shower earlier that day and saw the cutest semi-homemade onesie. We were inspired, so we headed for Walmart and got 12 cloth diapers for $12 then dug out our scrap fabrics and voila... made these darling burp cloths.

A few weeks ago we also copied a Martha Stewart idea and decided to make glittery Easter eggs. We went to Hobby Lobby (our favorite) and got white plastic eggs for $1 and loose glitter $2, then borrowed some modge podge. After a few messes and lots of glitter on my table and floor we ended up with these beauties.

Way cheaper than store bought!

I realize it sounds like Liz and I are a couple, I guess that just shows how much studying our future DDS husbands are actually doing :)

Blast from the Past

When we moved to Omaha my mom gave me all of my scrapbooks (in hopes that I would finish them) and then recently wanted a few of my school pictures back for a book she is making for my grandma. As I was scanning the pictures it was pretty funny to remember each school year and thought everyone might get a kick out of some of my looks :)

Our Little Miracle

As many of you may or may not know, it has been a desire of Jayson's and mine to start a family and have children for quite a while. Little did we know, that our timeline was not necessarily in line with our Father in Heaven's plan for us. While it has been a trial in our lives, it has brought us numerous blessings. I believe we are closer, and have a stronger marriage than we otherwise would have. We have come to understand the importance of faith in a loving Heavenly Father who has a unique plan for each and everyone of us. We have come to trust that He knows more than we do and to put our faith in Him.

With the fullest of hearts we are so happy to announce that we will be having a little baby this August!
I have tried to love every minute of this pregnancy and count it for the blessing it truly is. I have only had a few bouts of morning sickness, but am definitely a little nauseous with certain foods (mainly leftovers). I have only had one particular craving and that is for Olive Garden salad and breadsticks. mmmm. I haven't gained much weight yet, but have thickened out quite a bit around the waist :) Jayson is so anxious for me to get a belly, but I keep reminding him that all the weight I put on pre-pregnancy will have to come off after the baby.

We are now at 16 weeks and so excited for the remaining 24!

I know many of you had us in your thoughts and prayers for the last little while and I can't tell you how much that means to us. We are so grateful for the support of family and friends. This baby is already so loved by so many and we just can't wait to cuddle and smother it with kisses!!!

Mom and Sissy Visit!

My darling mom and sister came to visit me and Jayson in February. They were here for 6 days and it was so fun! Luckily, I was able to take off a few days of work to really spend time with them. The Omaha weather was kind to us and we had a few nice days where we were able to go outside and walk around the sites of the city. I have really enjoyed living here in Omaha and being able to make great friends and having Jayson all to myself- but when they came to visit, I realized how much I need my mom and sister. I love them so much and am so grateful that we are so close. They are the best sister and mother a girl could ask for.

You can't really tell, but we are standing in front of a frozen pond in downtown Omaha called the Waterfront.

Behind us is the pedestrian bridge connecting Omaha to Council Bluffs.

We had a lot of fun seeing the sites of Omaha, but we had just as much (perhaps more) fun making these darling quilts. There is an amazing fabric shop here that I was so excited to take them to. Jen made a Valentine quilt for Lili and a quilt for baby #2. I made a quilt for a friend. We had a lot of fun cutting our fabric, pinning and sewing. The quilts turned out really cute.

(my mom is not present in a lot of these pictures because these are the pictures off Jen's camera, and my mom hasn't sent me her pictures yet, but don't worry she was there and I love her just as much :)

It was such a fun week and I loved having them here! We had a great time staying up late talking, watching movies, and just hanging out! I love them tons and miss them already! Only about 2 more months until I get to see them again, Yeah!
