Corn Picking

Jayson's mom's cousin lives in Melba, ID and has a corn field. Every year Con Zeyer invites family to come and pick as much as they'd like. We were very excited to take part this year. We spent about 30 minutes in the corn field and ended up with a trunk full of corn. It was really great to meet more of the family and we are happy to have more relatives close by.
Savannah is a city girl. As soon as I got her out of the car and set her on the ground, she picked her feet up and said "yuck, dirty." After about 10 minutes of convincing she finally decided it was ok to walk on the dirt.

 Cousin Taylie in the field

(please excuse the mop top. as usual church was a wrestling match)
We ended up with about 150+ ears of corn. On Sunday while the girls were napping we shucked, cut, blanched, and bagged 6 gallon size bags full of delicious fresh from the farm corn.

Also... this little slice of pie had her 4 month check up

16 lbs. 2 oz (85%)
24 in long (53%)

She could not be more precious! Somehow the name, "slice of pie" seems just right for her. What a doll. I'm so sad we aren't in UT with you guys right now...

And, how did we never talk about your corn picking experience? What a fun experience and how amazing to have so much delicious fresh corn!
